I’ve been working on a new set of songs. A number of them have been around in one form or another for a very long time, and others are more recent. I’m starting to feel a little bit of momentum to get them finished up and out of my head once and for all so I can create more new material.

This (as yet untitled) album has become a lot of fun for me to work on for a few reasons:

• I’m consciously trying some new production styles and instrumentation
• I’m playing almost all of the instruments myself except for drums, and I’ve had a chance to work with a couple drummers I really like
• I’m using some new songwriting approaches and trying to break out of my comfort zone a little bit

I’ll explore those reasons a little more in some upcoming entries. It’s a learning experience that I want to record for posterity.

I swear I’m going to finish this project this year – drunkdude69 is on a bit of a hiatus, and work on a new Foonspeeders album is on and off as well, so I’ve got time to focus.

This is not an April Fools’ Day joke, I mean it. Seriously, man. I’m not kidding.
